National meet: #ChampionsForZeroLeprosy

The Leprosy Mission Trust India (TLMTI), over the last few years, developed over 240 Champions (persons affected by leprosy) who have overcome the challenges of leprosy to champion the cause of people affected by leprosy, from across the country. TLMTI, through its CREATE project, organised a 2-day national meet of the Champions in New Delhi, from November 27-28, 2018.

It’s with great pleasure we inform you that The Leprosy Mission Trust India’s (TLMTI) Shahdara Hospital in New Delhi has been honoured as ‘Model Employer’ by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, in appreciation of its commitment to comply with the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Act to provide social security.

The birth of a new partnership

Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (RECL), a public infrastructure finance company in India’s power sector, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Leprosy Mission Trust India (TLMTI), to construct and equip operation theatres, maternity blocks and Intensive Care Units (ICU) in TLM Champa, Faizabad, and Vadathorasalur Hospitals.

Understanding the needs to plan interventions

The Community Intervention Unit (CIU) of TLM Shahdara Hospital, in New Delhi organised a need assessment camp for elderly persons affected by leprosy in Kasturba Gram Kusth Ashram, Tahirpur, New Delhi, on April 18.
