Married at an early age of 13, Nazma was sent back to her parent’s home in Rasoolpanah village, in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, by her husband. This was after two months of marriage as he suspected she had some disease as she was thin and anaemic. “When I came back home, I faced a lot of problems. I had just one set of clothes with me. The Community Intervention Unit (CIU) attached to Shahdara Hospital of The Leprosy Mission Trust India is dreaming big for women affected by leprosy in Satyajeevan Kusht Ashram (leprosy colony), in Lajpat Nagar in New Delhi.
The Leprosy Mission Trust India’s PARTI project (Partnerships, Advocacy, Research and Training towards Inclusion), has successfully completed a 3-month training course in cutting and tailoring for women affected by leprosy/with disabilities, in Alambadi, in Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu.
The Leprosy Mission Trust India (TLMTI), in association with CBM India Trust, trained 13 of its staff in access audit, in a 3-day access auditor training workshop conducted from March 26-28, at TLM Kothara Hospital, in Maharashtra.
