TLMTI celebrates Anti-Leprosy Day

The Leprosy Mission Trust India’s (TLMTI) hospitals, vocational training centres and community development projects across the country celebrated Anti-Leprosy Day (January 30), organising various programmes for raising awareness and educating the public on leprosy, with much gusto. These programmes were organised in partnership with the district government officials, local NGOs, educational institutions, local communities, and people affected by leprosy.

Some of the key activities were: public rallies, awareness programmes for students, tree plantation drive, administration of leprosy pledge, and special Gram Sabha meetings (through local Gram Panchayats).

On this occasion, the Central Leprosy Division’s (Government of India) Sparsh Leprosy Awareness Campaign was launched and the campaign mascot, Sapna, was unveiled in all districts where TLMTI works.
