The Government of Tamil Nadu organised a state coordination committee meeting for Sparsh Leprosy Awareness Campaign, in Chennai, on January 11, attended by all District Leprosy Officers of the state and officials from education, social welfare, and child development departments.

The Leprosy Mission Trust India (TLMTI) was represented by Dr Ira from TLM Vadathorasalur Hospital and Mr Jayaraj, Community Development Officer, PARTI project. Mr Muthukrishnan, leader of Vadakuplayam Disabled Peoples’ Organisation (DPO) and Mr Prabhu, also attended the programme.

Mr Muthukrishnan inaugurated the meeting by lighting the lamp. He was honoured with a shawl by Director of Medical Services, Dr M.R. Enbasekaran and Additional Director of Medical & Rural Health Services (Leprosy) Dr G. Indumathi.
