About Vocational Training Centre
The Leprosy Mission Trust India opened the Vocational Training Centre (VTC) in Nashik in 1980 to provide job-oriented training to young people affected by leprosy and disability from the most marginalised community.
We need immediate support for them so that they can complete their respective courses and get gainful employment. Corona pandemic added more misery to these individuals and their families. They must get employment opportunities to get out of stigma and support their families who are dependent on them.
The Leprosy Mission Vocational Training Centre in Nashik is approved by NCVT and ISO 9001:2015 certified. The focus is on youngsters affected by leprosy and disability. We have more than 120 graduates a year with 48% women candidates and 85% campus placement.
We provide training in Mechanic Diesel, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Welder and Computer operators courses which are affiliated to the NCVT. We provide Printing Technology, Electrician, Tailoring and Beautician training courses for school dropouts who are not eligible for the NCVT courses. Students are also provided with life skills training (skills to deal with issues in daily life), career counselling and self-care training to prevent disability or injury at home or in the workplace.
Industries like Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra partner with us to provide quality training. After training 85% of the students are placed with a starting salary of 10,000 and above.
