Functional adult literacy TLMTI builds capacity of its staff for better delivery

The Leprosy Mission Trust India’s (TLMTI) Women’s Empowerment through Education, Advocacy, Livelihoods Training and Health (WEALTH) project organised a two-day workshop on adult literacy teaching methodology for its staff and staff of TLMTI’s S, in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, from April 26 to 27. Mr O.P. Chaurasia and Mr Sudhakar Mansingh from Literacy House, an institution that promotes adult literacy through training and capacity building, based in Lucknow, conducted the workshop as the resource persons. Thirteen project staff and 46 volunteers took part in the workshop.

When the world celebrated Valentine’s Day on February 14 with its usual fun and fervour, The Leprosy Mission Trust India’s Inclusive Holistic Development of Individuals with Disabilities (IHDID) project, in Kothara, Maharashtra, found a novel way to celebrate the day.

A gracious gesture of BHEL for the well-being of leprosy patients

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), under their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, donated a Laser Therapy Machine to The Leprosy Mission Trust India’s Shahdara Hospital, in New Delhi, to be used in its Physiotherapy Department. Mr Hitesh (Head, Administration Dept), BHEL, Noida, inaugurated the machine, on May 8.

Once a wasteland, today a land where dreams bloom!

In the large compound of TLM Chandkhuri Hospital, in Chhattisgarh, 2.5 acres of land lied waste and vacant for 12 years before Dr Manotosh Elkana, hospital medical superintendent and his team decided to put it to good use.
