The Leprosy Mission Trust India’s (TLMTI) WEALTH project (Women’s Empowerment through Advocacy, Livelihood Training and Health) organised a gender awareness programme, in partnership with District Legal Service Authority, in Pakariyapur village of Fatehpur Block, Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, on January 29.

A total of 400 women and 120 men from nearby villages took part in the programme, which was conducted to create awareness on gender equality among women and sensitise men to gender issues. Shri Rakesh Verma, Gram Pradhan, Pakariyapur Gram Panchayat also participated in the programme.

Hon’ble shri Surjan Singh, Judge and Secretary of District Legal Service Authority, Barabanki, spoke about the legal rights of women and the remedies for rights violations.
