Impact of Advocacy: An increase of 70 per cent in financial assistance to persons affected by leprosy

NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has approved the proposal of Department of Social Welfare to enhance the financial assistance to persons affected by leprosy from Rs 1,800 per month to Rs 3,000 per month (an increase of 70 per cent) under the Rehabilitation Centre for Leprosy Affected persons (RCL) scheme

Many stakeholders, including The Leprosy Mission Trust India (TLMTI) and the community-based organisations of people affected by leprosy formed by TLMTI have advocated for this increase in the face of the sky-rocketing cost of living in Delhi.
