A day of learning and merry-making for members of Children’s Parliaments

April 24 was a day of learning and merry-making for members of 19 Children’s Parliaments in Amravati district of Maharashtra. The Leprosy Mission Trust India’s IHDID project (Inclusive Holistic Development of Individuals with Disabilities) organised a summer camp in Chikhaldara, Maharashtra, where 195 children attended (of them, 26 were children with various disabilities).

The birth of a new partnership

Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (RECL), a public infrastructure finance company in India’s power sector, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Leprosy Mission Trust India (TLMTI), to construct and equip operation theatres, maternity blocks and Intensive Care Units (ICU) in TLM Champa, Faizabad, and Vadathorasalur Hospitals.

Seizing every opportunity

Rotary Club of Allahabad Elite, Uttar Pradesh, organised a special function ‘Party with a Purpose’ today (April 21), in Allahabad, with Dr Ruby Marshala, Medical Superintendent of TLM Naini Hospital as the chief guest.

Advocacy for inclusion

Melghat Viklang Jan Sangthan, a district-level organisation of persons with disabilities, promoted by The Leprosy Mission Trust India’s IHDID (Inclusive Holistic Development of Individuals with Disabilities) project, organised a planning meeting at TLM Kothara Hospital, on April 20, where 30 block-level and district-level office-bearers of Disabled Peoples’ Organisations (DPO) participated.

A (foot) drop of hope

Dr Amrita Daniel, an orthopaedic surgeon working in TLM Faizabad Hospital, in Uttar Pradesh tells how Chand Ali, a 61-year-old man, who consulted her with leprosy-related foot drop and severe ulcer was brought back to normal life.
